The Weiland Advantage:
- Toughest seamless exterior – Thickest fiberglass in the industry
- Cleanable gel coat surface – Even graffiti wipes clean
- Void-free construction – Nowhere for bacteria to hide
- Composite backing behind all hardware – Superior screw retention for long life
- Closed cell polyurethane core – Maximum thermal performance for coolers and freezers
Extra Heavy Duty Fiberglass Construction
Up to 8’0” x 10’0” door openings are molded as a solid, 4” thick panel. Larger sizes available as multi-panel doors. Custom sizes available – consult with factory.
Fiberglass sliders are molded as two separate shells and bonded together for a seamless gel coat finish. Each shell is molded, starting with a 20-25 ml application of gel coat, then alternating layers of fiberglass, building to a thickness of 3/16”. HDPE backing is molded into the laminate structure, to provide adequate backing and screw retention for all finished hardware.
Closed Cell Foam
Door panels are placed in a heated press and injected with 2lb per cubic foot closed cell polyurethane foam. 2lb foam provides the maximum r-value for thermal performance (roughly R-7.5 per inch).
Mean Rail Options
Door panels and header casings can be built to accommodate meat rails and I-beams for meat & poultry applications. Consult with factory.
Weiland has built countless custom doors for unique applications. If you have a design challenge where you’ll need a door, please contact Weiland to brainstorm ideas.
S/S Clad Casings (Frame)
26-ga stucco embossed stainless steel clad frames are standard for our fiberglass doors. White painted frames are optional, depending on the application. The core of our casings is made of HDPE plastic lumber. Jamb depths are built to virtually any size, accommodating any wall type or depth.
Self Regulating Heat
120 volt, 10-watt per foot self-regulating heater wire is utilized in perimeter of our doors for freezer applications.
Track and Hardware
Fiberglass doors feature a stainless steel track, brackets, trolleys, stay rollers, chain, sprockets, etc., for corrosive resistant construction built for wash-down applications.
Wicket Door Option
Swinging “wicket” doors can be built into sliding door panels, both with “step-over” and “flush sill” designs. Consult with factory.
Power Operator Option
½ Horse power, NEMA4X operators are standard for Weiland power sliding doors. Operators feature a marine grade aluminum housing and a wash-down rated control box. Weiland upgrades the operator motor to a stainless steel shaft and sprocket for maximum corrosion resistance. Various activation types are available, including pull cord stations, push button stations, motion activation, garage door style openers, or in-floor loop detectors.
